How can I become a Secret Internet Shopper?
To be able to take up our mystery shopping jobs, simply fill out the registration form found on the right side of the SecretInternetShopper home Page.  Upon registration, y
ou will receive a set of simple instructions on how to conduct mystery shops.

Can I apply more than once for shopping jobs?

Please only apply once. SecretInternetShopper will continue to send you tasks as they become available.

Does membership cost me anything?
No. There is no fee to be a SecretInternetShopper mystery shopper. Once you have registered with us, you will be eligible to take up and get paid for available mystery shopping jobs.

No. At this point in time our mystery shopping jobs are open only to US citizens.

What do you do with the profile information I filled out when signing up and why do you ask personal information when I register?
That information is stored in our database and used to match up participants with specific job requirements. We can share your information with outside sources to bring even more cash paying shops for you. We ask demographic questions such as age and gender to ensure we have a diverse, representative membership database. We only use this information to group our available secret internet-shopper database for identifying appropriate jobs for them.

Do I get paid per mystery shopping Job? How much?
The pay for each job varies, but depending on the number of jobs that you complete, you can get paid anywhere up to $15 for each set of completed tasks.

We will pay you $5 for every person that signs up using your name in the "Referred By" field and completes a set of shopping tasks.

When and how do I get paid?
We check and review all the tasks you complete.  We advise that you take a screenshot of each confirmation page, click on our

How do I take a screenshot? for help with this or contact us and we will take you through the process.  We also advise that you retain confirmation emails as we may request either screenshots or confirmation emails as evidence of a completed task.  We currently pay you through PayPal.. PayPal is a FREE service that allows you to instantly receive cash over the Internet. Payments are made within one week of receipt of invoice. You are considered an independent contractor and no taxes are taken out of your pay check.

Will I have to use my credit card to participate in the jobs?
For most shops, you will not require a credit card. 

You will be notified if it a task requires CC submission, and you can choose to skip that task.  However, accurate data is very important for Mystery Shopping. For all the tasks you must use your real identity information i.e. real name, real date of birth, real gender, real address and telephone number. You must also use your own valid credit card.  If you do not have a credit card and although some shopping jobs may need credit card details, most shopping jobs will not need a credit card, you would simply do these jobs.

Why do I need to submit a W9?

We require shoppers to submit a W9 in order to send 1099’s to our shoppers at the end of the tax year.  We also require this documentation to verify that shoppers submit genuine information whilst shopping.

I am having problems saving my W9

The W9 is in PDF format and can be amended and saved as a PDF document.  The document can also be saved as a jpeg file.  Enter your information, click File/Save as.  In the "Save as type" and select JPEG.

How do I take a screenshot?

 

How to Take a Screenshot in Microsoft Windows

  1. Press and hold the "Alt" button and press the "Prnt Scrn"

     
  2. Open Microsoft Paint. To do this, click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint. Click inside the white part of the screen.

     
  3. Go to the Edit menu and click Paste or you can press and hold "Ctrl" and tap V.

     
  4. Click File > Save As. In the box that pops up, change the "Save As Type" to PNG or JPG. Type in a filename for your image. Choose a place to save, like the Desktop, and click save.

     
  5. You have now successfully taken a screenshot! If you want to send your image to somebody, simply attach the .png file that you just saved to an email and send it along. Alternatively, you can upload it onto the internet by visiting a site like TinyPic.com and uploading it.

Can I cancel a free trial immediately?

If there is a task that requires you to sign up for a free trial, and you wish to cancel the trial, you must not cancel the trial immediately after signing up for it, you should only cancel the trial 2-3 days before it ends, this is very easy to do by simply being organised and keeping a note of the end date of the trial.

How do I deal with junk mail?
We strongly recommend that you use a "throwaway" email address to complete the shops. We recommend Gmail - you can forward Gmail addresses to any other email address in order to receive confirmation emails - but it also has a great spam filter if any of the internet sites you have joined should start sending you an inordinate amount of mails! If you require any assistance setting this up, please send an email to support@secretinternetshopper.com  with Gmail Help in the subject line.

Please note:  If you submit false information, do not use a valid credit card or you cancel a trial immediately after starting it, you will not be paid for the jobs and your working contract with us will be terminated.
